Simon is one of Jack's choir boys. He is very quiet and observant, civilized boy. He is resourceful and always thinking. Simon is nice towards the younger boys and is willing to work for the good of their community(helping Ralph with the shelters). He is an outcast from the deranged socitey that is slowl created on the island. When Simon leaves to go to his "happy place" he meets the Lord of The Flies and learns the truth of the "beastie". He remains one of the only sane people and some of the last hopes for civilaztion untill his killed.
